The Department of Homeland Security Friday warned of domestic violent extremist activity after the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade. Yet, two congressional Democrats were fanning the flames of outrage against the Supreme Court Friday.
Democratic representatives Maxine Waters, Calif., and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, N.Y., joined protestors clogging streets near the Supreme Court.
Ocasio-Cortez repeatedly chanted “Illegitimate!” into a megaphone among a crowd gathered outside the Supreme Court building. She further egged the crowd on, encouraging them to take it “to the streets.”
Waters, 83, said the heck with the Supreme Court and declared women will defy the justices. The congresswoman pointed to the large crowd gathered before the Supreme Court building and predicted it would continue growing. Waters exclaimed women will control their bodies no matter how others try to stop them.
“Women will be in control of their bodies,” the octogenarian opined.
“And, if they think Black women are intimidated or afraid, they got another thought coming,” Waters continued. “Black women will be out in droves; we will be out by the thousands; we will be out by the millions; and we are going to make sure we fight for the right to control our own bodies.”

“Some domestic violent extremists (DVEs) will likely exploit the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe V. Wade to intensify violence against a wide range of targets,” DHS officials said in an internal memo. “We expect violence could occur for weeks following the release, particularly as DVEs may be mobilized to respond to changes in state laws and ballot measures on abortion stemming from the decision.”
The incendiary public remarks by the two Democratic representatives probably do not meet the legal definition for inciting violence, but they did nothing to quiet passions after the historic high Court ruling.
If the large crowds of galvanized abortion supporters protesting at the capital turn violent, a November red tide in the House could lead to a Republican Select Committee investigating them.
