President-elect Donald Trump has appointed another longtime Fox News contributor as the media representative for the U.S. Department of State.
The announcement was made Friday via Trump’s Truth Social account, where he selected Tammy Bruce and praised her qualifications and her longstanding contributions to conservative media.
Trump’s post lauded Bruce’s career trajectory and political evolution.

“It is my great honor to announce that Tammy Bruce will be joining our incredible Nominee for United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, as Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State,” he wrote.
“Tammy is a highly respected political analyst who understood the power and importance of ‘MAGA’ early on.”
Bruce has been an outspoken supporter of Trump, writing on X that she was “proud of this man,” adding that “2025 is just the beginning.”

Bruce’s appointment to this high-profile role does not require Senate confirmation, per Politico.
The outlet further noted that as the face of America’s foreign policy communications, she will work closely with Rubio, Trump’s Secretary of State nominee.
Her new role underscores the continued influence of Fox News alumni within the incoming administration, with several former contributors and hosts already selected for prominent positions.
Bruce’s career has been marked by a notable political transformation, as outlined by The Hill.
Once a liberal activist and former leader of the National Organization for Women, Bruce changed her ideological stance in the 1990s.
Her shift was highlighted in Trump’s announcement, where he described her as someone who had “seen the lies and fraud of the Radical Left” and subsequently emerged as “one of the strongest Conservative voices on Radio and Television.”

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California and has been a prominent commentator on Fox News for nearly two decades.
The Western Journal reported that Fox News Media issued a statement recognizing Bruce’s contributions, saying, “Tammy Bruce has been an extremely valued contributor at Fox News Media for nearly 20 years, and we wish her all the best in her new role.”
Bruce’s biography on the Fox News website described her as having worked to “expose and help defeat the leftist agenda,” a mission that aligns closely with Trump’s “America First” philosophy.
Bruce is one of several individuals with Fox News ties chosen to serve in Trump’s administration.
Vanity Fair noted that at least a dozen appointees have connections to the network, reflecting its enduring influence on conservative politics and policy-making.
Other prominent Fox alumni tapped for key roles include Sean Duffy, appointed as Transportation Secretary, Pete Hegseth nominated as Defense Secretary, Janette Nesheiwat who was selected to serve as Surgeon General and Monica Crowley, who Trump named Chief of Protocol at the State Department.

Some outlets argue that this wave of appointments highlights Trump’s reliance on media figures who have played a pivotal role in shaping and amplifying his political agenda.
As a State Department spokesperson, Bruce will be responsible for conveying America’s diplomatic stance to both domestic and international audiences. Given her reputation for being a “fearless” voice, as Trump described, Bruce’s tenure is expected to bring a dynamic approach to U.S. foreign policy communication.
